Electronic Cigarettes - aka E-cigs E Cigarettes E cigarettes
You can expect to pay an average of $70 for an electronic cigarette starter kit. The typical kit comes with 2 batteries, 2 atomizers, a USB rapid charger, wall charger plug, carry case and cartridges.
You will also need some e-liquid ( e-juice ). The average “vaper” will use 1 ml of e-liquid per day, therefore, a 30 ml bottle of e-liquid should last a month. This equates to 12 bottles per year. A 30 ml bottle of high quality e-liquid will cost you approximately $20.
That equates to $310 per year. Add on an additional $300 a year for batteries, cartridges, atomizers and accessories. That is $610 per year.
If you currently smoke a pack a day at $6 per day of brand name cigarettes you will pay $2190 per year.
Comparison of electrinic cigarettes to cigarettes
cigarettes - $2190
e cigarettes - $610
Annual savings - $1580
Even if you “vape” twice as much spend double on the equipment you would only spend $1220 a year which is still a $970 annual savings.
So what is an electronic cigarette?
The electronic cigarette, aka an e cigarette or ecig, was originally designed to look and feel like a real cigarette. There is on major difference - no combustion or simply put - no burning tobacco. The e-cigarette allows the user to receive nicotine in manner that is comparable to a tobacco cigarette with inhaling the tar and other chemicals that are purportedly in tobacco cigarettes. The advantages are enormous.
No offensive odor absorbed into your clothes, hair and living space.
No second hand smoke that drives non-smokers crazy
No morning hack or continuous coughing that smokers experience.
No shortness of breath due to the tar that clogs up your lungs.
No bans on Vapeing in public areas, bars, restaurants, public buildings etc.
Carcinogens, tar and dirty looks are reduced.
You still get the satisfaction of smoking without the guilt.
How does an e-cigarette work?
All electronic cigarettes require a battery. E-cigarettes require batteries with voltages higher than a normal 1.5 volt battery. Electronic cigarettes use a 3.7 volt Lithium Ion battery that is rechargeable. They can be disposable and range in a number of sizes.
The atomizer is the functional part of the electronic cigarette. This is simply a device that heats the fluid to a temperature that creates a fine vapor when air is drawn though it. There are a number of types of atomizers but the all have the same function - change the fluid into an inhalable vapor.
There are many types of cartridges, some which include the atomizer - known as a cartomizer, some pre-filled, some that can be filled and some known as tanks that hold only fluid. The majority of cartridges that are sold in stores have a material that soaks up the fluid and has a wire that runs along this material. We do not recommend this solution as it is costly and the experience is not on par with tank systems.
